Poway Sushi Lounge was an idea conceived by two friends working together for another restaurant, Sushi on the Rock in La Jolla and Carlsbad. Katie Rooney was the Catering Director, starting the department after opening the Carlsbad location and being the Manager of Operations for both locations.
Frank Interlandi assisted in the Carlsbad opening and was promoted to Head Chef at that location after working in La Jolla for 5 years.
The two friends decided to venture off on their own and brought their fresh, creative cuisine to Poway. After purchasing Sushi Poway, the two partners began three months of remodeling and changes and emerged with a new menu, fresh new décor, and a whole new feel. Poway Sushi Lounge celebrated its 3 year anniversary recently and is known for the quality of not only its fish and ingredients, but service and overall experience for the guest.
