Welcome to Bluestocking Books. For 45 years, 3817 5th Ave has been an independent bookseller in the Hillcrest neighborhood of San Diego, California. We stock used and new titles as well as bookish gifts, cards & ephemera. We special order new and used books. Gift certificates make the best gift ever! Join us for Sunday Sontage, an open reading venue for poets and writers, on the fourth Sunday of the month. On August 26th at 7pm, we will host poets published in this year's San Diego Poetry Annual. In September, we will resume our regular open format. Listeners are welcome too!
We carry books on all topics that seem interesting and important as well as those that let our minds escape - a little of everything! Customers may trade used books for store credit. We Special Order books of all kinds.
The only way I can get rid of books is the incentive of credit!!! Airy welcoming space and friendly helpful staff--this store has a great feel and I always leave with my arms loaded with books.
