Extraordinary Desserts in Balboa Park is one of San Diego's original espresso coffee houses and is considered a favorite by many of our long-time customers for its intimate and romantic setting. In fact, it is considered one of San Diego's finest first date establishments.
As is the case when we first opened in 1989, customers wait in line for their turn to order from the counter, find a cozy table while their dessert and drink is prepared, and then have their order brought to their table.

Everytime my family has a special occassion to celebrate, we end up here. The cakes are gorgeous. If you're looking for something super-duper chocolatey, try The Viking. If you're looking for something lighter, the Shangrila is really good and light. If you like tea, try Strawberry Dreams, it reminds me of strawberry milk.
