Jayne's Gastropub is San Diego's first gastropub. The gastropub is essentially the gourmet update of the classic British pub. Familiar and welcoming but very refined. Owner Jayne Battle has executed this concept to a T drawing on her native upbringing in Liverpool, England and 12 years working in the great restaurants of San Francisco. Updated pub classics such as Bangers and Mash and Sea Bass Fish and Chips are crowd favorites and the Chimay draft beer tap never seems to stop flowing. The 1929 building looks like something straight out of Portobello Road and the rustic garden patio is romance incarnate. Since opening on Valentines day, 2007, Jayne's has quickly become a citywide favorite and was named by San Diego Magazine as the 2007 Critics Choice for Best Neighborhood Eatery.
Take your lady to a romantic meal here, the staff are super helpful with food and drink pairings.
