As an acupuncturist who is trained in Dr. Tan's Balance Method and received her Master of Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2005, Jane Mergens, L.Ac., can address many issues such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, women's menstrual and hormonal problems, as well as infertility. She also regularly treats patients with gastrointestinal disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn's Disease, poor digestion and diverticulitis. Her scope of practice includes all types of pain syndromes such as back pain, neck pain, joint pain and injuries, fibromyalgia, peripheral neuropathy and arthritis. She has treated many patients with headaches of all types, including migraines.

We also have Acupuncturist & Massage Therapist Dr. Paulo, D.A.O.M., L.Ac, L.M.T.. Dr. Pier A. Paulo, also graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine with a Masters in Traditional Oriental Medicine in 2003. Upon completion of her medical studies, she practiced Acupucnture in rural India and founded the Himalayan Acupuncture Project. She taught physiology and Asian bodywork theory at Arcata School of Massage and Heartwood Institute. She also recently graduated from Pacicfic College of Oriental Medicine with a high distinction as Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Dr. Pier Paulo is also currently practicing as a Licensed Massage Therapist when she is not attending to her Acupuncture patients. Dr. Pier Paulo specializes in family medicine, and works with a range of patients, from infants to the elderly. She has expertise in IBS, autoimmune diseases, reproductive health issues, and myofacial pain.

Joel and Teresa Onan are proficient in circulatory massage/Swedish massage/Esalen, deep muscle/deep tissue sculpting massage, Jin Shin Acutouch/Reiki, muscle testing, Chinese pediatrics massage, foot reflexology, Seitai Shiatsu, Shiatsu (Japanese massage)/acupressure, sports massage, Thai (Thailand massage), trigger point therapy and Tui-Na.

Joel and Teresa are both in the alternative medicine career. Joel completed his Holistic Health Practitioner's certification in 2006 and Teresa Onan completed her Massage Therapy certification in 2010 and is currently finishing her Master's in Oriental Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. Joel started his massage career when he was only 7 years old as an apprentice for his grandparents who are acupuncturists, herbalists and massage therapists in the Philippines. Teresa, as a young girl, witnessed her mother's Bell's Palsy condition disappeared with one acupuncture treatment while living in Montana, U.S.A. This event of her life made her decide to pursue a passion to become a doctor of Oriental medicine.

Joel and Teresa both have the passion and desire to help people get their health back in order. With this strong passion and desire, "Joel's Massage and Holistic Center" inception became a reality in 2009.

As a Holistic Health Practitioner, Joel C. Onan offers a wide variety of massage techniques from "Hilot", a Filipino massage that Joel had been apprenticed by his grandparents since he was a child to other modalities such as: Circulatory Massage/Swedish Massage/Esalen, Deep Muscle/Deep Tissue Sculpting Massage, Jin Shin Acutouch/Reiki, Muscle Testing, Chinese Pediatrics Massage, Foot Reflexology, Seitai Shiatsu, Shiatsu (Japanese Massage)/Acupressure, Sports Massage, Thai (Thailand Massage), Trigger Point Therapy and Tui-Na (Chinese Therapeutic Massage). He will put together a formula of techniques, designed just for you to soothe your needs.
