Nominated for: BEST Theater
Over the past two decades, The Old Globe has been the source of premiere productions that have garnered numerous awards and international acclaim. Most recently, the Globe presented the world premieres of the Twyla Tharp/Bob Dylan musical THE TIMES THEY ARE A-CHANGIN', which opened on Broadway in October, 2006, Chita Rivera: The Dancer's Life and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, starring John Lithgow and Norbert Leo Butz, directed by Jack O'Brien. The Globe's annual holiday favorite, Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, also transferred to Broadway last October. In 2000, the Terrence McNally-David Yazbek musical, The Full Monty, directed by Jack O'Brien, broke box office records at the Globe and went on to successful runs on Broadway and in the West End.
Hershey Felder in Maestro: The Art of Leonard Bernstein is fabulous! One of the best plays we've seen at the Old Globe. A must see!

Show up to the theater an hour early and watch the atmosphere grow, bring a picnic or a bottle of wine and you'll have an even better time. Enjoy the little things and prepare yourself for amazement!
