Saw this on the a-list site and gave it a try. The goodness starts with the snappy skin on the dog (east-coast style) and gets better with the toppings. The jalapenos give the dog/chili combo a very flavorful kick without being too hot. Add pastrami on top with their chipotle tobasco sauce, and you are ready for a good time. The fries are shoestring style with good seasoning. The chili cheese fries had enough chili/cheese goo to keep me happy all the way through - unlike some places that only put it on top and then the rest has no goo. I'll be back to try the bacon/cheese/bbq sauce dog. The Pastrami is similar to 'Hat' pastrami, so I look forward to trying the pastrami sandwich soon (instead of just on top of the hotdog). And, as it should be, the chili in meat only.
Pretty good fill factor for the price and tastes great. The staff is also very friendly and definately appreciates the customers.
This is the real stuff. If you know what cheese steaks are like back east, you'll be happy to find this shop. Good rolls, peppers and onions compliment the thinly sliced beef, and items from Philly are all over the place. Joe is a pleasure to talk to, especially if you are from the Philly area. Ask him where to find some water-ice in the area.
When the cross street is Bacon, you know you're in for a treat. The flavor really comes through in the bacon cheese burger. The fries are a lot more substantial than most burger places. The onion rings looked really good - I'll be getting those next. To top it off, the shake had a huge iceberg of ice-cream sticking out of it. The shake was thick - the way they were meant to be. The wait on a Sunday mid-afternoon was maybe 10-15 minutes. Give it a try!
