It really is the best around. I've been to Pho Hoa, It's decent. I've been to Phuong Trang in Clairemont, don't even think of going there for PHO, it was just like out of the can soup. Even the HoaCali on mira mesa didn't seem as good: the meat was cut differently, the broth may not have been as hot. And as for the other Vietnamese restaurants on El Cajon Blvd., they're good, but you go there for the other stuff, not the pho. Lucky for me, because I work just around the corner for this one.
The broth is always perfect. Just enough spice but still perfectly clear and refreshing. Once you add the lime and hoisin sauce, it becomes transcendent. I usually get everything in mine, but sometimes (such as today) I get the meatballs, which are fantastic. The restaurant is sparkingly clean, always. The service is efficient and friendly. They always say "Enjoy" when they put your food down. Lately I've been requesting less noodle and more soup, just because I'm so addicted to the broth, and they're always happy to do that. Man, I just love this place...
